Open Access of Scholarly Publications Policy

This LibGuide gives the Consortium Library's (CL) Collection Development Open Access (OA) policy and an overview of the OA resources (defined in the broadest sense) the Library makes available.

The Library is committed to OA scholarly communications. CL provides access to resources that support the curriculum and research of the University of Alaska Anchorage and Alaska Pacific University.  This includes OA resources, which are generally defined as information freely available and for use by people, communities, and organizations.

CL directly supports OA in a variety of ways.  Library personnel work with open access information through selecting and organizing it, making it accessible, and providing research assistance.  OA resources are available through the Library’s many online tools such as the QuickSearch discovery search, LibGuides (OER, Archives, etc.), catalog, and the ScholarWorks@UA institutional repository.
