RefWorks is a web application that helps you organize your research. You can import and manage citations and create bibliographies for research papers. The library's subscription to QuickSearch includes the freemium version of RefWorks which is suitable for basic research papers.
This version is limited and does not include premium features such as importing citations from a file, browser plugins, or integration with MS Word or Google Docs. If you need these type of features, consider using Endnote or Zotero.

QuickSearch
RefWorks is tightly integrated with QuickSearch, the library's discovery service. Items you save to folders in QuickSearch are automatically added to your Flow account once you login.
You can use the export citations function that is available in many research databases to get references into RefWorks. When you use export to RefWorks function, be sure to select Export to the new RefWorks if you see this screen.
Instructions for Specific Databases
Some databases require extra steps to get citations into RefWorks.
The UAA subscription of RefWorks is licensed only to current students, faculty, and staff. After leaving UAA you may be able to continue using the RefWorks for a little bit, but once you lose access to your university email account you may have problems.
The safest course is to download your citations and import them into citation management software like Endnote or Zotero.
