Helpful links and resources for the Alaska Women's Business Center

Libraries & entrepreneurs

In what ways do libraries support entrepreneurs?

Libraries have, or know of, resources available to entrepreneurs (even if they don't have a library card). These resources include:

  • market research resources
  • company information resources
  • industry research
  • sample business plans
  • trade and industry magazines
  • business news sources
  • business-focused legal resources
  • business dictionaries and encyclopedias
  • state-specific or localized resources

Accessing library resources

You can access Consortium Library resources and databases if you are in person in the library.

If you're not able to visit the library in person, Alaska residents can access resources from SLED, the Statewide Library Electronic Doorway. If you are not an Alaska resident, your state may have similar statewide-accessible library databases available. Visit your State Library's webpage for this information.

Your local library may have a number of business resources - check them out!

You can also access public-facing federal, state, and local government websites and resources.
