Using popular science magazines to find a topic

One way to find out what's going on in science is to glance through magazines. Briefly and in plain English, these cover the latest developments. The library subscribes to several science magazines:

Natural History
Scientific American
Science News
Smithsonian

These and all other magazines and journals are stored in room 215 on the library's second floor.

Tools for picking a topic

CQ Researcher
In-depth coverage of health, social trends, criminal justice, international affairs, education, the environment, technology, and the economy.
Points of View Reference Center
Covers a range of controversial topics and provides an overview (objective background/description), point (argument) and counterpoint (opposing argument) for each topic.

Newsbank Hot Topics
"Hot" current events topics.
