Study Spaces

Group Study & Collaboration

  • Physical distancing is encouraged at all times
  • Group study rooms are currently first come, first serve
    • Available to student groups of 2 or more people
    • May be used by individuals for online courses
  • Open areas
    • Great Room
    • Third floor
    • Alaskana and Government Documents sections on the second floor

Quiet Study 

  • Individual study rooms are currently first come, first serve
    • For silent study only
    • May be used for RPNow and other testing 
  • Open areas along curved (east) side of the building on the first and second floors
  • Earplugs are available in the vending machine by the Main Circulation Desk

After Hours Study

  • UA/APU students, staff and faculty only.
    • Sun - Thurs: 8pm to midnight
    • University ID required

Graduate Study Rooms (Carrels)

  • Open to UAA/APU students enrolled in graduate level programs
  • Available for individual study for a full semester

Note: You can charge your devices using outlets in study rooms, in the floor in many areas of the library, and in the charging bar/table near the Alaska Medical Library (2nd floor).

You can purchase the following items from the vending machine near the main Circulation Desk:

  • Blue Books & Scantron forms
  • Pens, pencils, paper
  • Flash drives
  • Note cards
  • Whiteboard markers
  • Headphones & earplugs
  • And more!

Please help prevent the spread of COVID-19 by refraining from removing your mask to eat or drink when possible.

Lost & Found

Items are held at the Main Circulation Desk for 30 days.

  • Car keys, wallets, purses, electronics, and similar items may be transferred to Campus Police (907-786-1120).
  • The Library is not responsible for lost items.
