What do libraries have for entrepreneurs?

Does UAA/APU Consortium Library have resources for entrepreneurs? Yes! Do other libraries in Alaska have resources for entrepreneurs, too? Yes! Are many of these resources available to all Alaska residents, free of charge, without a library card? Yes!

What do libraries have that is most useful to entrepreneurs?

  • business planning resources with sample business plans
  • data sources to help you learn about consumers and potential target markets
  • company information to let you learn about your competitors
  • business dictionaries and encyclopedias to help you learn the lingo
  • resources to help you learn to design/perform market research
  • publications about consumer psychology and advertising
  • business-focused legal resources
  • trade and industry magazines
  • business news sources
  • locally-focused business publications
  • librarians to help you make sense of it all

Understanding Your Access - Remember, it's all Free

Can you access Consortium Library resources if you're not a student? Yes, but not from off campus. If you visit the library in person, you can access everything. If you're not able to visit in person, you can access the resources on the next page of this guide labelled Free for all Alaskans. Your local public library may have a number of business resources, as well.

You can access anything from federal and state government agencies anywhere, anytime.
