APA 6th edition resources

  • What's New in the APA 6th Edition
From the APA website. Scroll down the page to the "Chapter by Chapter" synopsis of changes. These are very cursory overviews, but they are useful to alert oneself to the places in the manual with specific changes.
  • Tutorial - "What's New in the APA"
Free tutorial from the APA website about key changes. Allows you to jump ahead through various narrated slides. Easy to identify the slides most pertinent to your needs, especially when used in tandem with the synopsis in the above link.

Very useful guides for your students

  • The OWL at Purdue
Singlehandedly, this is the most useful and navigable online guide to using APA style. Updated to reflect the 6th edition.

Share this link with your students via the Blackboard course shells, especially the sample APA paper!
  • Tutorial - The Basics of APA Style
Free tutorial off of the APA website "designed for those with no previous knowledge of APA style."

The best thing about this tutorial is that you can easily skip around to relevant slides. You don't have to watch them all at once, and it's easy to navigate between them.

Refworks!
