Interested in improving your skills at finding evidence-based resources to support your patient care and teaching activities?  Four new interactive online tutorials have been created.  These free online “classes” guide learners through using these online resources, asking questions to reinforce learning activities.  A completion certificate is generated by each guide listing the learner’s name, date and time the course was completed lists the answers given to each of the questions.

All Alaska nurses can use the first two tutorials:

  • PubMed for Nurses demonstrates finding systematic reviews and articles in nursing journals,
  • Natural Medicines is an evidence-based complementary and alternative medicine tool

Nurses working at hospitals with access to CINAHL (nursing and allied health database) have two additional tutorials

  • CINAHL –Keyword searching
  • CINAHL – Advanced searching

Criteria for successful completion in order to award contact hours: All questions must be answered.

These activites is enduring until July or August 2018.

There is no conflict of interest for any planner or presenter.
